Sophia's Info...
| Breed: | Domestic Longhair | Color: | Brown Tabby | Age: | Adult |
| Sex: | Female | Hair: | Long |
This gorgeous girl with the big, brown eyes, soft fur, and big, fluffy tail is looking forward to a new life - a life where she gets to be the pampered one! Sophia enjoys attention from her people and is very affectionate. Sophia loves nothing more than to receive gentle petting and tummy rubs. She also enjoys being brushed and will show her gratitude with lots of kitty kisses and rumbling purrs! She snuggles close when you hold her and curls up contentedly while sitting in your lap. In fact, one of our volunteers had another kitty sitting in her lap when Sophia decided that the lap could easily accommodate both kitties so she hopped right up and made herself comfortable!
Sophia is incredibly playful and enjoys playing with just about any toy you introduce to her. She'll chase all sorts of balls - balls with bells, crinkly sparkle balls, fuzzy balls, and bouncy balls. Watching Sophia chase bouncy balls is quite humorous...as the ball bounces up and down so does she...her run looks like a cross between a gallop and a hop! She finds furry toy mice entertaining and wow, when it comes to wand toys and cat dancers - you can get her to repeatedly jump, all 4 paws off the ground, in her enthusiastic efforts to capture that wand! She even throws in a flip or two every once and awhile! Stalking The Undercover Mouse, a battery-powered wand that repeatedly swings back-and-forth underneath a fabric circle is another skill that she excels at. Sophia is such a fun kitty to be around...she is a hoot to watch!
When Sophia isn't hanging out with her people or playing with her favorite toys, there are other activities that capture her interest. She loves kitty condos, especially tall ones, where she can climb to the highest platform and relax. Sophia finds water running from a faucet fascinating...she will alternately swat it, bite it, and lick it! Sophia thinks pens are fun too - especially if someone is trying to write something down with one. She'll bat at them repeatedly and then triumphantly plop her furry little self down right on whatever you were trying to write on!
Sophia is the purrfect package...beautiful outward appearance matched by an equally beautiful personality, affectionate with her people, and capable of playing for hours on end...all that she is missing is a family of her own. To learn more - www.azrescue.org.
Rescue Group Info...
RESCUE is a registered non-profit volunteer based animal rescue organization located in Maricopa County. RESCUE has no central facility and is volunteer run. Our focus is on the "kill lists." We were founded in 1995, and with the support of our volunteers and our community, we have found homes for over 9,000 dogs and cats. Our motto is for every animal adopted, we are back to rescue another. We depend on the community for our support and offer a variety of satisfying ways for you to get involved in our mission to end the killing of the orphaned dogs and cats. Please consider adopting, volunteering or donating.
We do not have a shelter. We are at various special events around the valley. Please see our Upcoming Events section on our website for further information. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to some of our wonderful animals.
Fill out an online application, have an interview with a Matchmaker, if we are in philosophical alignment, set up a meet and greet and if all goes well finalize the adoption. Our service fee for dogs is $150 and $125 for cats. All our dogs and cats are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.
