Wilbur's Story...
Meet Wilbur! Oh my what a sweet, sweet golden boy!!! He is 7 years old, pure bred golden that was released to AGK by his owner. It was extremely difficult for them to have to give him up but he was killing chickens in his neighborhood. We are glad they turned to AGK because we promised we would find him a good home. Wilbur is very food driven so he was easily trained. He loves to greet people with a tail and butt dance and give you a kiss without missing a stride. He is also a bit of a snuggler and "spooner"! Walks very well on a leash and is a good car rider. He is also house trained. WIlbur is good with other dogs and loves attention from people. Wilbur is an active 7 year old who will need an active home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilbur, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
