Homer Pup's Story...
Meet Homer. He is one of 7 puppies born from a beautiful orphaned black lab named Kassidy. We think Dad was also a black lab because all pups are black and look like mom. Homer and his siblings were born on December 9 so they will be ready for adoption by February 10th. Mom and puppies were cared for in a private home where they received the best of care. AGK requires for all puppies this age to have a stay at home or work at home parent. And another dog in the house is a plus. Please watch the video about Kassidy and her story here at http://www.wbir.com/video/default.aspx?bctid=1315229669001 to learn more. If you are interested in adopting Homer or one of his siblings, please go to our website at www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org to fill out an application. His fee is $300, does not include transport fees. PLEASE NOTE ALL AGK DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN EAST TENNESSEE. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY OUR ADOPTION PROCESS BELOW.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Homer Pup, a Roanoke Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Roanoke, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Roanoke.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roanoke already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roanoke breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roanoke paves the way for another one to be saved.
