Frankie's Info...

I am a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, good with kids, and good with birds.

Frankie's Story...
Frankie came to us through an owner who had severe allergies to her copious powder down, and subsequently had her shut in a bedroom for years. This bird initially came fro a rescue in Michigan, and I am not sure of her history before that. She is an adorable Umbrella Cockatoo who has now had 4 surgeries for a prolapsed cloaca, which she came to us with and had had for years at the previous owner's. By not taking care of it upon presentation, this helped her pelvic floor to lose it's integrity Sweet Frankie is obviously special needs and will probably be a chronic prolapser. She needs love, calm and a person who understands cockatoo affection so as to not keep her, (in the mood,) 24/7, year round, which is suspected to be a contributor to her condition.. and someone who will take her to a reputable vet when she needs to go... contact us at www.lilysanctuary for more info on Frankie.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frankie, a Fountain Valley Cockatoo was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatoo for sale in Fountain Valley, or seeking a Cockatoo from a breeder in Fountain Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fountain Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fountain Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatoo breeders who help with Cockatoo rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fountain Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
