2/21/12 - I’ve heard it said that God will never give you more than you can handle. I begged to differ about four weeks ago when my mom, that I had been with all my life, had to surrender me to rescue because her job was making her travel and she wouldn’t be home enough for me. Well, I know that God truly will not give you more than you can handle, because I’ve settled in quite nicely here at my foster home and I realize that these people truly care about me and finding me the best home ever.
So, moving onto finding me that perfect home, I’ll tell you a little about me so that you can see if you can form your life to fit mine.
I’m a graceful, sweet, girly, girl, but would not call myself a diva, nor am I a tomboy. I would like another fursibling in the home to play with because I’m very playful. I have tried to get the other pups in my foster home to play with me, but seems they are a little stuck up since they are used to foster pups coming and going. I wouldn’t call myself a velcro dog in the sense that I follow my humans everywhere, but about 85% of the time, I’m right by your feet. I do get spurts of being a little independent, but still want my people.
I’m a good eater, absolutely LOVE to give kisses and love to sleep in the bed under the covers. I really enjoy sitting in foster mom and dad’s laps and love to snuggle.
I actually prefer pee pads over using the bathroom outside, but still have some accidents. Since I love my humans so much, I tend to get upset when they leave the house. Having other pets in the home (especially ones that will play with me) will help with this, but since I’m new to my foster home, foster mom and dad realize that I get nervous and tend to leave them a little poopy on the floor. I don’t hit the pee pad on these instances, but I think this will improve once I learn that everyone I come into contact with isn’t going to abandon me. Otherwise, I try to go on the pads.
Even though I walk well on a leash, I do tend to enjoy the sound of my own voice, so would probably not be a pup for an apartment or condo. I’m actually a great singer, you just have to have an hear for my talent. Someone that can put my talent to use when appropriate and let me know when it isn’t appropriate would be a plus.
Since I love to chase the squirrels and seem to want to eat the neighbors cat, I’d say it best if there were no other critters besides dogs in my new home.
Well enough about me, let me know some things about you. Go to yorkiehavenrescue.com and ask for Hanna.
