My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a beautiful little three and a half year old pocket beagle. One might believe that's where her story begins, and ends. Sadly, it isn't. After a meth lab blew up, the authorities were called, and then called us. Abby was found in a shed, along with her two puppies and several other dogs. Part of a group rescue effort, Abby and her puppies and her buddy Booker came to us.

As it usually happens, Abby's puppies were adopted almost immediately. Abby tested heart worm negative, was spayed and brought up to date on shots. Abby was a little shy when she came in but has blossomed. She will definitely need an owner who will give her some time to acclimate and feel comfortable. Abby does well with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. We hope that someone will give Abby a forever home and a family to love. Are you Abby's chance at forever?

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
