Hi My Name is Nixie; I am a beagle mix that is about 5 years old. I absolutely love everyone!!! Especially kids. I sleep in my foster brothers every night. I like sleeping with him since all the other beagles are on foster mom’s bed and I am the only one that can jump the baby gate to get in his room. I enjoy the one on one attention he gives me too.

I have a lot of energy like a puppy but I am past that puppy stage. I know what I can chew on and I also know to potty outside. I love being outside!!! Almost as much as I love curling up on the couch and cuddling with foster mom. I love going for car rides and I am always ready to go. When I can’t go I like to tell everyone that I am not happy that I have to stay home. But I do settle down after a few minutes. Foster mom put me in the crate when I first got to her house, I did fine in it but now she leaves me out and I do fine. I also like going for walks. I do very good on a leash. But if I get out and I’m not on a leash I will run.

I live with a couple other beagles and they are fun to play with but I don’t like it when they get too close to me when I’m eating. I get a little angry so foster mom keeps us all separate when we eat. There are also cats that live here too. There were interesting when I first got here but once I realized that they don’t like to play like I do I don’t bother with them anymore. Playing with toys that squeak are the best! I like to pull all the toys out of the toy box, especially right after mom puts them away, I guess she does not realize I had them out for a reason.
