Gunnar's Story...
Hi! I am Gunnar and my foster mom says that I have a moderate energy level for a 9 yr old Brittany. But those of you who know Brittanys -- you probably aren't very surprised.

I am very lovable, affectionate and super smart. I learn quickly - I know sit and am learning other commands. I still need to do better with leash walking, because my previous family rarely took me for walks.

I love to have my ears and belly rubbed. Sometimes I like to sleep on your bed at night and sometimes I like to sleep on my own dog bed. I would love to have a home with someone who loves me.

In my previous home, my owners couldn't take care of me. I was pretty skinny when I got to my foster home, but I have put on a few pound and now I look "dashing".

I have been neutered, am up to date on my vaccinations, am heartworm negative and on prevention, and I have been microchipped too!

This is ADOPT A SENIOR MONTH, so if you have room in your heart for us oldies but goodies, pleaes fill out an adoption application at the New England Brittany Rescue website, www.nebrittanyrescue.org. We look forward to hearing from you. I'm eligible for the senior to senior adoption program.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gunnar, a Buffalo Brittany dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Brittany for sale in Buffalo, or seeking a Brittany dog from a breeder in Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Brittany breeders who help with Brittany rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
