My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Biscuit is an approximately 2 yr old female Great Pyr mix who came to us when her family lost their home. She did not respond to the name Biscuit, so her foster family renamed her Miss Bea. Miss Bea had been an outdoor dog previously, but has become accustomed to being in the house. She climbs stairs just fine and is no longer afraid to go through doorways.

Miss Bea is reserved around people and things she does not recognize, but warms up quickly to affection. She has become a “snugglebug” at her foster home and likes to sleep on the bed. Miss Bea’s other favorite place is her crate which is her “safe” place and she will need a crate to be happy in a new home. Miss Bea also needs the companionship of another dog, preferably a female older than she is. Miss Bea currently lives with a Pyr/Aussie mix and Miss Bea takes her cues on housetraining and eating from the older dog. She was with an older female Pyr when she came to rescue. Miss Bea will NOT be placed in a single dog home.

Miss Bea also needs sturdy, secure visible fencing as she will start and run at sudden loud noises. She will need some patience to get over bolting, as she does not yet have a reliable “come” unless she wants to-like when she can go for a walk. Miss Bea is interested in cats, but is not at all aggressive to them. Miss Bea would likely do best with older children as very young children may startle her.

Miss Bea still prefers to be outside when it is nice out, but gets along well indoors. She has the unique ability to "sproing"...crouching down in the snow, then leaping up on all four feet at once! She is really cute.

Miss Bea came to rescue in poor condition, but her health issues have been treated and her coat has become whiter, soft and fluffy. She may be mixed with Lab, but looks mostly Great Pyr. Miss Bea is UTD, heart worm negative, chipped, spayed and house trained. An adoption application, site visit, and adoption fee are required to adopt Miss Bea.
