My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). We are the ONLY 501c3 English Bully rescue in Illinois! Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a large Midwest territory. Become a fan of Chicago English Bulldog Rescue on Facebook, find us at ChicagoEBRescue on Twitter or EnglishBullyRescue on You Tube to learn more about our charitable work and get daily updates with our adoptable bullies!

STELLA – that’s my name! Call me and I’ll come running to plant one powerful, slobbery smooch right across your kisser! My enthusiasm is what got me in this situation. I guess babies & little tikes just can’t stand up to me! My birth family spoiled me rotten! But when a human baby came alone I didn’t get the attention I needed and my mom and dad made the loving, tough, decision to give me up so I can pursue a life of 24/7 happiness!

“Curb your enthusiasm.” That’s not a phrase I understand! I’m just a kid myself – just 2 years of pure puppy love. I am healthy, spayed & microchipped and have lived the good life! I need to have a family that shares my energy level. I’m thinking a level 2 puppy class or an agility class could be fun! I would probably graduate top in my class because I am pretty darn smart! I am a great retriever and love a good game of tug-o-war!

My “Pros” list is stellar (maybe that’s how my name was chosen!). I’m completely house broken. I even have a bell I ring to let my foster mom know that I need to use the ladies room! I am quiet in my crate (with my peanut butter Kong) I sit like an angel when my foster mom prepares my meals. I even wait for her to give me the “go ahead” before I dig in!

As far as being canine social, I’m what you call a ‘butterfly’. I want to be everyone’s friend and will often let out a little submissive pee just to let them know I’m not interested in being top dog.

Because I am young, I need someone who will be around for me. My original owners realized that this is very important for me; after all, it’s why I’m here. A long work schedule and I just won’t work well together. I would really enjoy a canine brother or sister too; preferably someone who likes a good romp like me. As far as cats go, I don’t see what the big deal is. I’m a little curious but my rope or my toys are much more fascinating. I’m more athletic than I am couch potato but I will curl up and watch a movie at night! I would love a yard so I can run around and shake out my sillies! Stairs? Bring ‘em on! I could be an Olympic stair climber. I even try to take them 2 at a time when I’m coming in from the cold! Oh, and hardwood floors – have you ever heard of those? I hadn’t until I came into my foster home. I am afraid of them so my foster mom put down carpet runners. I’m getting better but when I find myself on them, I try to only walk backward – Hey, whatever works! I can’t live in a house with kids that I might knock down. I love them but just can’t control my excitement. Kids 12 and over would be awesome.

Got to go! Thanks for visiting me!

Love,

Sweet, Silly, Stella!
