Copper's Story...
"Belly rubs...belly rubs...I love me some belly rubs! And toys...LOTS of toys. I LOVE toys"!

If you've got the time, he's got the belly. Copper is a happy 2-3 year old buff and white male who lives for belly rubs. He will roll over onto his back and stay there for hours as long as he has someone rubbing his belly. But when the belly rubs are over, he runs and grabs a toy and wants to play or chase squirrels. This handsome little guy came to us from a local shelter and does great with small dogs but doesn't much care for bigger ones. Copper is house trained but can be a bit set in his ways and would do best in an all adult belly rubber home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Copper, a Houston Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Houston, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
