Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eight year old Claire’s owners surrendered her to a shelter and they didn’t bother to answer a single question on the biography intake page they were asked to complete. This includes not even filling out her name! .
No Name female, now called Claire badly needed a dental so she was labeled not adoptable. (Her breath stunk to high heaven). Since dentals are expensive, many other groups passed on Claire. We didn’t really have any room for her but at the 11th hour when no one else has stepped up for her, we agreed to squeeze her in.
We are glad we did because Claire has turned out to be a really nice dog. She is very friendly with people although until she knows and trusts you, she is hand shy and will shriek in fear if you grab her too fast. (Clearly her former home was not very nice to her). Once she gets comfortable with you, she loves to cuddle. Claire is also good with other dogs. Her foster home is very overcrowded with doxies and Claire is getting along well with all of them.
Claire has lots of energy, including running around like a puppy only two hours after her dental. She came in under weight, but has been eating like a pig since the removal of her infected teeth. We think she was making up for lost time, which she has done so well, she is now on a diet.
Claire is absolutely irresistible and she has managed to become the only doxie in her foster home that is not crated at night and instead sleeps under the covers in the big bed.
Claire likes walks and seeing and smelling the world. She is spayed and current on her vaccinations.
If you are interested in Claire, please fill out an adoption application at www.scdr.org and email Lindy at linla@comcast.net.
The tax deductible donation for Claire is $150
