Phoebe's Story...
A rat terrier mix, Phoebe is petite and charming. She is shy at first, but warms up quickly. She loves to cuddle and be held. Phoebe weighs about 6 pounds. As small as she is, she is a dog – not a toy. She needs exercise – not be be carried arouns in a purse. She needs obedience – not to be coddled and babied. And most of all, she needs to continue to be social with OTHER DOGS. Being social with people is important, but Phoebe is a dog and needs to socialize with other dogs to keep her from becoming barky and nervous.

Are you a small dog lover? Phoebe is waiting for you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Reno Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Reno, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Reno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Reno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Reno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Reno paves the way for another one to be saved.
