Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy is a very sweet, 8 year old beagle who is already housetrained, knows sit, shake and lay down. There is nothing she loves more than to roll over and get her belly rubbed.
Lucy's previous owner could no longer afford to care for her and had to give her up. We hope she finds another great home with some people to love. She had run of the house before coming to her foster home. Lucy is crate trained but prefers to sleep on a dog bed next to our bed and we just keep her in the bedroom when we are gone with no problems. Lucy gets along well with our other dogs and our cat. She is quite playful with our 2 year old beagle. Lucy is a larger, taller beagle and weighs about 40 pounds. She is a little overweight so her new person will need to keep an eye on her food and treats as well as keep her moving. Our vet thinks she may have thyroid issues and we are waiting on results of a blood test. If she does have a thyroid issue this may be why she is a little overweight - she needs to lose about 5 pounds. She might need a pill twice a day and it is not too expensive. We will update her bio when we know for sure. Lucy can be protective of food and some toys when other dogs are around so it is best to keep her away from the dinner table when you are eating if you have other dogs. Lucy would be fine as an only dog or with another dog to play with. Our dogs eat very quickly so there is no problem at feeding time. If you have a dog that eats slowly it would be best to keep Lucy separate during feeding times. Overall Lucy is a very good beagle girl and would make a great addition to any home.
