Nana's Story...
Nana was saved from a local animal shelter after her previous surrendered her there because "they travel too much." Rescued Friends came to her rescue immediately and she's now looking for her forever new home! Nana is approximately 11 years old but has the energy level of a much younger dog! Some of Nana's favorite things to do are; playing catch with a tennis ball, playing frisbee, and chasing lights. Nana is used to other dogs, cats, and horses but she can be an alpha female. I like to chew paper from the toilet roll, if you give it to me (Weird, I know, but I think it's fun). I love children and infants (especially when they're eating, and no grown up is watching me snatch their food). I'm very affectionate. People are my favorite kind of critters, but I don't like it when babies pull my ears.
Don't lock me in a room, I'll chew my way out because I get claustrophobic (just close all the doors in the house you do not want me in and I'll roam around the rest of the house just fine). I'm housetrained, but am not good at telling you I need to go outside, so you need to ask me. And when I'm outside, you have to tell me "go potty" about 4 times before I'm done (unless you just leave me out for a long while). I CAN NOT EAT ANY TABLE FOOD because it gives me diarrhea. Do not leave any food out on the counters or tables because I'll try to sneak it and make a big mess. Do not leave trash where I can reach it. Nana previous owners believe she was a rescue dog and believed she used to a working dog because she responds to whistle commands and really enjoys being outside herding squirrels, cats, or whatever I can find. We believe Nana would do best on a farm where she can run and play all day.. Nana is fully vetted, which includes; spayed, all vaccines, heartworm negative, kept on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nana, a Arlington Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Arlington, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Arlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
