Missy Sue's Story...
Missy is a 1 year old female sable and white pure bred smooth collie. She was found as a stray and ended up in an animal shelter. She has made great progress in her foster home. She is learning to sit, stay, lay down, to settle in her crate, and to be housebroken.

She is a very happy dog and her tail wags almost all the time. She eagerly comes when called and answered to her new name almost immediately. She is very easy going, smart, and eager to learn and to please.

On her first trip to the vet everyone fell under her spell. They all thought she was cute and sweet. She loves people and approached every one she met with excitement. She loves the companionship of other dogs, and would do well in a household that has at least one other dog. When her path crossed the family cat she was startled, but not at all aggressive. New 04/25/2007.

If you feel that you could give this very special little sweetie the good home she has never had and deserves, please contact: Cathy Toft, cathy@calcollierescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy Sue, a Redwood City Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Redwood City, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Redwood City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Redwood City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Redwood City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Redwood City paves the way for another one to be saved.
