Health: TeddyBear is spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, current on DHPP, Bordatella, and Rabies.
More About Me: Teddy Bear has just arrived. We met Teddy with his owner a few times and he was a sweet boy. He was happy and loving. His person is now deceased in a brutal attack. We suspect that he was in bed next to her at the time of the attack - as he did sleep with his owner. However, since the trauma he is very leary of people and needs time to adjust. He is a great companion and very devoted to his person or persons. He seems to be more attached to women but is now warming up to the male in the foster home (asking for pets, kisses, and snuggling) – he did take considerable time to warm up to the man - but it could have just been needing time to adjust after the attack he witnessed. He loves his people to no end and loves to follow them around and be with them. He is 100% housetrained and very consistent with his housetraining – even getting used to a dog door. He can be barky with visiting strangers and when he cannot be with his owner – but his prior owner had him debarked so his bark is very muffled. Teddy is uncertain about what has transpired and who he can trust, which is to be expected. He needs time to adjust and get used to his people and surroundings. Poor Teddy needs a new home to call his own where he is again the light of someone's life. Teddy would be best suited in a home with a single woman or a couple women. He would love someone who is able to be with him a lot, but he does crate up well and does fine in the home alone – he just loves to be with his people. He loves to snuggle and be held and enjoys his walks. He is an extremely loyal dog that shines with his people.
History: Teddy has found himself homeless due to unfortunate circumstances. The lady that cared for the Peanuts Dachshund pups (Schroeder, Charlie Brown, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Woodstock and Momma Lily) from 1 wk old until they came to us was murdered http://www.idahostatesman.com/2012/02/29/2014717/40-year-old-woman-charged-with.html Teddy and Eve (2 yr old Aussie mix) have now found themselves in the shelter and homeless. We had both dogs pulled from the shelter.NWIPR IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER REGISTERED NON-PROFIT 501c3 PUBLIC CHARITY

CONSIDER FOSTERING A DOG
***Do you or someone you know have the desire to help a rescue dog? If you have a loving heart, dog experience, a safe and secure yard and the notion to make a difference, please consider fostering a rescue dog. There are MANY dogs that we just do not have room for and just one person can make a world of difference to a dog that needs a safe place to rest his or her weary paws.....***
