My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chipper was rescued from an abandoned apartment in North Alabama, where he was locked up without food or water for several days.  Despite this treatment, he showed a playful and obedient temperament from the beginning.  He moved into a home with another foster dog and very quickly learned both verbal and non-verbal commands.  He is highly intelligent, and this shows in his ability to learn new commands.  He has been trained particularly to resist bolting through doorways; if he is told to stay he will await a cue before going in or out.  He is very energetic and loves to play with both humans and other dogs.  Chipper's favorite game is tug-of-war and will try to place a rope in the hand of anyone who will play with him.  He is both house trained and crate trained, but hates to be left alone and would much rather spend 24 hours a day alongside you.  Chipper would thrive in an environment with other dogs to play with and, especially, a situation where he could remain close to his owner throughout the day.
