We have received numerous applications for Riley over a very short period of time. We contacted applicants in the order the applications were received and had problems reaching some by phone. This gorgeous young boy, Riley, was abandoned by his family at a busy shelter ("change of lifestyle"). So Riley is with us looking for a family to love and cherish him forever this time around. Riley is only 2 years old, around 50 lbs, and he looks like a lab with the beautiful coloring of the golden (without the longer coat). He is a very good boy: he loves people, enjoys attention and snuggling. He is great with other dogs, big and small, and even with kitties! He doesn't even mind the kitties trying to steal food out of his food bowl, even though he came to us very thin. He loves to eat and has gained some weight already. Riley does not have accidents in his foster home, he is crate trained and an overall sweet and good boy. We started working on his obedience commands, and he is very eager to please. He knows the "sit", "down" and "paw" commands. at the end of the "down" command he will roll over on his back for rubs :-) Riley is gentle and submissive and will make a wonderful pet in a loving home. Riley is ready to meet his forever family.
It is our policy not to place our dogs into homes with young children since we don't have foster homes with young children to evaluate the dogs. The adoption begins with the adoption application: we do not have the manpower to respond to detailed inquiries before we receive the application.
