My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How beautiful is Vivienne, or V or Miss V as we call her?! She is definitely one of the most striking Chow's we have ever seen. Sadly, as you can see from her photos she was terrible matted when we rescued her and she had horrible ear infections in both ears. But despite all this she was just as sweet, gentle and happy as can be. Her tail gently wagging as we interacted with her. We're pretty sure that she couldn't even hear us when we rescued her due to all the junk in her ears. I'm happy to report that we have removed all the mats from V's body and we've cleaned up her ears. Now she's a bit "naked" but she doesn't appear to be a modest gal and she can hear us calling her name. And now that she can move around freely we have found that our beautiful gal is pretty playful, as you can see by her video. She loves to play ball! We've also discovered that she knows, sit, down and shake with both paws. So brains and beauty can exist in the same dog!!

Ms. V is a HUGE favorite among out volunteers. Everyone is always trying to be the one to get to take her out on walks and outings. Here is a note from just one of her admirers: "I LOVE THIS GIRL!!! V was feeling her oats tonight on our walk. She was excited about her walk and ready to have some fun. As we walked she would all of a sudden start to run and when reaching the end of the long lead would turn around and run back to me and then do a play bow with the biggest smile on her face. She would then start a play growl and I would act like I was going to get her and she would turn and take off running again. We played this little game several times! I'm so glad we rescued her, she is going to make a sweet pet for someone!"

Vivienne is an excellent walker and really enjoys her time out and about. She is a real head turner and folks regularly want to interact with this beauty! V is happy to oblige. Who doesn't love being adored! :)

Vivienne would do well in a household as an only dog or a calm dog. She needs daily walks and of course lots of games of ball! V is such a lovely dog - on the inside and out. She's not had a great life in the past. She deserves to be a spoiled, loved dog for all the days of her life. If you think that's your home, please fill out an application for her today - www.azrescue.org.

Vivienne weighed 52 pounds when we saved her from the kill list. As you can see from her photos she was not properly cared for. Her coat was terrible matted and she had ear infections in both ears. :(
