Kasey had to be put down today due to congestive heart failure

Kasey is a 5-6 yr old black and white male cocker spaniel.
He came from S Carolina where he was found roaming the streets.
When found, he had numerous medical issues such as demodex mange, lice, double cherry eyes, horribly infected skin from flea infestation, and severley infected ears.
Kasey was one miserable little cocker boy, his hair was gone from the skin infection and mange/lice, he was skin and bones, and was starving.
He ended up in a kill shelter where he was sure to be put down.
Buck luck would have it that our rescue heard of his story, and saw the photos of this horribly neglected cocker.
We just had to help this boy, he had already suffered enough, and deserved a chance at a real life as a beloved pet.
We took him immediately to the vet where he was cleaned up and fed, then given the treatment he needed for the mange and skin infections.
It took a while to clear this up, so we had to wait until he was well enough to be neutered, and his cherry eyes repaired.
Poor Kasey has come a long way, he also had a dental while he was under anesthesia, and he is finally on the mend after about 6 months in rescue.
His hair has still not grown in yet, however it is beginning to fill in, but our vet says that his skin was badly damaged, and it could take some time before he has a full coat again.
Kasey is thriving in our care now and he is such a sweet darling little cocker, even though he is still bald in many areas we love him just the same.
He is so loveable and affectionate, and will sit on your lap or next to you for hours, he is very much the little lap dog.
He does great with the other dogs in his foster home and is housetrained.
His only fault is that he can be a little bit of a barker at times, but nothing that cant be handled with a firm "NO", and he quiets right down.
We just love this little guy, and want to see him find his forever home where he can be loved and spoiled the way he deserves.
Kasey is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is heartworm negative.
