Amanda's Story...
Amanda was at a pound in a nearby county when one of our volunteers saw her. The staff at the pound said she kept getting passed over for adoption because she was hyper. Well the volunteer recognized that Amanda wasn't hyper but a 6-8 mos. old puppy that hadn't been able to run like she needed too. Amanda came to our facility and has the run of the place along with several adults and a couple of other pups her age. She is a fun pup that loves playing with the others and also enjoys lounging in the afternoons soaking up the warm sun's rays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amanda, a Albany German Shepherd Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Albany, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
