My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a 3 year old black female with natural ears. She is losing her home because her owners must move. Maggie is a wonderful dog, completely housebroken – her mom says that her only “bad” habit is getting on the bed when left alone. She gets along with all dogs, big and small, and she loves to play. She also gets along with kids of any age, and is very gentle. Her owners adopted her from the humane society two years ago, when she weighed only 91 lbs, and was scared of every little noise. She is still scared of loud noises, but her confidence has improved a lot. She has never lived with cats. When she sees one outside, she wants to take off after it, but her mom said that, when told “no,” she stops dead. She has terrific leash manners, and is accustomed to taking walks for exercise.
Update 4/8/12 - We tested Maggie with a resident cat, and she did great! She pretty much ignored the cat, but when he approached her, she sniffed him, and made no attempt to chase him.

Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League can only adopt within its incorporated area (eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, WV, MD, and VA). For more information on our adoption policies please visit our website: www.magdrl.org To adopt a Great Dane under 2 you must have traditional fencing (no electronic fences permitted).
