Lucas's Story...
"Lucas" is a 2-3 year old, neutered male, border collie mix. He was rescued from an east bay area shelter where he was scheduled to be euthanized. As soon as we got him home we realized what an amazing dog he is! He is housebroken, rides well in a car, walks great on a leash, is trained to stay off of furniture in the house, and knows the command "sit" and "Down". He is a calm dog who is very well bahaved in the house. He gets along great with other dogs but he will chase cats. He is smart boy who will be easily integrated into just about any home. "Lucas" is very easy going and well mannered.
All dogs adopted from There's No Place Like Home have been vaccinated, examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, and heartworm tested.
An adoption fee of $175 helps us cover a portion of those costs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucas, a San Pablo Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pablo, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pablo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pablo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pablo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pablo paves the way for another one to be saved.
