Rusty's Story...
Rusty is a super old man! He was picked up as a stray in Henry county - heartworm positive, abcessed tooth and some small tumors. Thin as a bone to boot. But those days are gone. He's in great shape and looking for a great home to finish out his days. He's a senior (8+) but still very active and alert. He weighs approx 70 lbs and sleeps almost all day. He must be able to live inside, prefers to curl up on the couch. He enjoys his crate and is fine with other dogs. If interested, please call HSOC at 502-795-7151 or email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a LaGrange Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
