My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eddie is a little character and is a happy, friendly and loving little dog. Unlike some other JRT's Eddie knows when to be calm. He is a loving little dog at just 17 lbs who would enjoy family living or to be treated as number one by an affectionate human. He is approximately 2 years old.

Here is what his foster family had to say about Eddie:

Eddie has all the great characteristics of a JRT. He is smart and is very willingly to please his people, he has lots of energy and wants to play, play, play . Unlike some JRT’s however he does seem to have an off switch and will have a nap on his bed or a cuddle on the couch.

Eddie is well on his way to being completely trained. He is fully housetrained and crate trained and only needs some work on his obedience and leash training. Great for a family who wants a young active dog without all the work of puppy training. It would be great for his new family to continue his training and socialization to avoid the small dog syndrome that some JRT seem to have. He is a very happy go lucky boy who loves everyone including kids, dogs and cats. He is one of the best behaved dogs that we have fostered and I’m not sure what I like more..his cute face or his waggily bum.

He seems to sometimes know basic commands so has probably started training and just needs more practice. He is very smart and wants to please. He has picked up on our routines very quickly. He is crate trained and will even go in to sleep. He goes in willingly all you have to do is point at his crate. He rides very nicely in the car.

I think he would do great in any family who is willing to continue his training and socialization. He would love to have an active family as he is a busy boy and would probably enjoy a daily good walk, hike or trip to the dog park. He would make a great second dog but the other dog must like to play as Eddie won’t give up on that and can be a pest. He would be good with kids but maybe not little ones as he tends to nip gently when excited. He would be fine with an older family also.
