Zoe's Story...
Ok, enough with the sausage jokes! So I enjoy a good biscuit followed by a long nap…sue me. You should have seen me a few weeks ago…I’ve dropped from 20 pounds down to 17, now that deserves a round of applause! You know what else deserves a hand? My sweet, calm, cuddly disposition. Sure, I startle easily but once I know you’re safe I could spend all day in your lap being petted…or better yet, we could cuddle under to covers. Man, that’s my favorite spot! I’ll make a great addition to a quite a home, little kids are not my cup of tea but I do just fine with other pets and I’m housebroken too. How about we work out a little bargain…you give me a biscuit, then we can go for a walk together…then you take me home and we can cuddle? That could be our daily routine! 8 years old-17lbs. My adoption fee is $140 and includes; spay, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced cost training class, toy & treat packet, leash/collar, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zoe, a Portland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
