PRINCE HENRY's Story...
UPDATE ON PRINCE HENRY FROM HIS FOSTER FOLKS. He is doing well and very playful. He recently played with a Great Dane in the dog park in which people thought Henry was the Dane's puppy. Despite of his deaf and blindness, he knows his boundary and active with many dogs. Henry does need someone to play with him and any playful dog will be happy with the Royal Highness.

Meet PRINCE HENRY. Henry is a handsome little guy, but his looks came at a high price to him. The gene that gave Wags some his beautiful coloring stole his sight and hearing. Henry is missing his eyes and is deaf. He will need a special family willing to creatively communicate with him. If he could talk, we think he would probably request a family without a furniture moving hobby as well. Doxie’s born with vision impairments frequently develop a truly remarkable knack for navigating familiar spaces, so long as things don’t move around too much. We have a feeling Henry will get around just fine in a familiar space. He is confident in his navigation ability and untroubled about the occasional bump along the way. Henry is under 2 years old and a tiny guy, weighing in just over 7 pounds, but he packs a lot of sweetness into his wee frame. He is a very friendly little fellow. He has in the past shown a great deal of love for children. ADOPTION FEE: $195. We have placed many double dapple doxies with varying degrees of vision and hearing impairments and these special little dogs all manage to thrive. Although they are certainly very special, they are anything but needy. If you need a little specialness in your life, this sweet boy is for you. Please read and answer our criteria questions via email before you call or email for more information. Thank you, Jenell 503-313-3220

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PRINCE HENRY, a Portland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
