I am Tinker and I am a cute baby gray & white spayed female kitten. I was born around April 10, 2011. I am very adorable and have personality plus. If youre looking for something sweet, dazzle yourself by considering adopting me. I love to cuddle, play, explore and best of all climb my cat tree. I was taken to a local kill shelter by my previous owner because they said they could not keep me. I was placed in a cell with Zinger, Suzy Q and Sonny which helped a little bit. When I first arrived, I was so scared and really did not understand why I was being left, I did not think I had done anything wrong. As I tired to settle in with the others, we were all saying our prayers and crossing our paws that someone would help us escape. We were there a little over a week when Advocats came to visit and fell in love with us. Since being at my foster home, I have learned to trust again. I now have so many toys to play with and loving it. The food is pretty good here too. I am now able to explore, cuddle and I am making new friends. I am ready for my new home and I am loving life while waiting to begin a new one where I will be making new furever memories. I have been spayed, treated for fleas, parasites, and earmites and I am up-to-date on my vaccines. I am litter box trained.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small no-kill volunteer-run feline rescue which is a foster-based feline-only rescue group whose mission is to find loving, permanent homes for cats and kittens in the Fredericksburg and surrounding areas in Virginia. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. All of our cats and kittens are fully vetted, tested, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. They come from area shelters, managed colonies, abandoned strays, and from people who can no longer care for them. We actively promote the education of spaying and neutering, trap-neuter-return (TNR) for feral cats and best practices in companion animal care.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We hold adoption events in Spotsylvania County and the Fredicksburg, Virginia surrounding areas.
Our Adoption Process...
Prospective pet parents must fill out an application (available from our website or from a volunteer at our adoption event) and participate in a brief interview. We will ask to see rental or condo agreements, as well as vet records for any pets currently living in the home. We ask that all members in the family participate in the adoption process, including responsible older children. We reserve the right to perform a home study if necessary. We will also ask for references in the application.

If the adoption is approved, there is a contract to be reviewed and signed. There is an adoption fee to cover spaying or neutering, all testing and vaccinations, microchipping, and all care up to the point of adoption. New pet parents receive all medical records and a pet parent information packet. Follow-up is done within three weeks of adoption.

We do not adopt kittens younger than 8 weeks. All cats are spayed or neutered before they are released for adoption.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Orange Counties along with the City of Fredericksburg.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tinker, a Spotsylvania Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Spotsylvania, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Spotsylvania.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spotsylvania already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spotsylvania breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spotsylvania paves the way for another one to be saved.
