My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is one very handsome boy! He's about 8 years old and about as perfect as can be. He loves long walks, keeping his foster mom company when she's gardening, car rides and hanging out with his Weim foster brother. Charlie is over the top affectionate and can turn your worst day into your best in seconds flat!

Charlie was recently treated for heartworm and although it is easily prevented with a monthly heartworm prevention med, it is also treatable and we expect Charlie to fully recover. For two months following HW treatment he must remain calm, leashed walks and no rambunctious play.He's about one month into his quiet period and for Charlie that's no problem at all. Although he's energetic, he's not rambunctious like a puppy and he's more contented to hang out with his people than anything else. He will be retested 6 months following his treatment, which is covered by the rescue, at an approved vet.

Our adoption process includes completion of an Adoption Application, Phone Interview, and Home Visit. Our foster homes have the final say in which applicant is the best fit for their foster dog. It is not a first come, first serve basis.
We are not a shelter. Each dog is placed in an approved foster home, or reside at the small sanctuary, until adopted.
