Frankfurter or "Frankie" as we call him is a 5 mos old, male, purebred mini Dachshund. He currently weighs 6-7 lbs and will be about 9-10 lbs once he is full grown. A true "mini.” Frankie and his 2 brothers were rescued from the Downey animal shelter after they were found horribly neglected at the tender age of 3 mos. Frankie is now recovered and ready to find his new family.
Frankie is a very happy, out-going, friendly, well rounded little guy. He is very people orientated and will follow you around the house but also has the ability to entertain himself with his toys or exploring new adventures in the backyard. He currently shares his foster home with both small and large dogs and is very well socialized. He loves to go for walks and car rides. He sits quietly in his little doggie booster car seat and will either nap or take in all the interesting sights. He is full of kisses and cuddles and loves to be held and sit on your lap. He has a nice medium energy level for a puppy. One of the most endearing things about Frankie is that he will act really tough if he hears a strange noise. He will take on a confident stance and bark to let me know something is amiss...then come running back to me with a scared look on his face wanting me to pick him up.
Frankie is doing wonderful with his housebreaking and knows exactly what to do when he goes outside. He will also use a puppy pad so it will be easy for his new owner to re-enforce whichever method works best for their living situation. Frankie sleeps quietly through the night in a puppy pen with his brother but also wants everyone to know that he is a pro at climbing puppy stairs leading right up to your bed. Frankie is a wonderful dog who has a lifetime of joy to share with a family who will love him and make him a cherished family member.
Frankie is housebroken, neutered, micro-chipped, rabies, de-wormed and up to date on vaccinations. Please contact Theresa at treasuredtailsrescue@hotmail.com if you would like to meet Frankfurter.
