My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At Christmas time a very pregnant wheaten wire hair dachshund was picked up as a stray in a small Central. She gave birth a few days later. Sequoia is the last of her babies. He had a major hernia (which has been fixed)so he has stayed in foster care a little longer than his siblings.

Sequoia is the most "wirey" of the litter. He is also the cautious thinker of the pack. We at first thought of him as aloof but now realize he doesn't have as much confidence as his siblings did. His foster mom adores him and we've agreed to let her keep him until we find him the right home which includes having a confident canine companion.

Sequoia is neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated, crate trained and is almost
100% housebroken!

The ideal home for Sequoia will have the following qualifications:
• Someone at home most of the day, stay-at-home parents, or folks who work from home.
• Another small, young dog for play and companionship.
• A very secure INDOOR place for the puppy to be when no one is at home.
• Applicants must be between 25 and 65 years of age.
• No infants or toddlers, please, but we will consider families with children over eight years old.
• Previous puppy experience is a plus, but not absolutely essential.

If you are interested in Sequoia, please fill out an adoption application at www.scdr.org and email Lindy at linla@comcast.net.
