My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxy is a wonderful little girl. She is full of energy and loves everyone she meets. She is a spunky little girl who would love another dog friend to play with or some kids to throw the ball for her. She is has lots of puppy energy but loves to snuggle on the couch too. She is only 14 lbs but has long legs and would love a jogging or biking partner.

Roxy is very social with other dogs of all sizes. She loves to play with dogs and would be great as a second dog only if the other dog wanted to play. ALOT. She wants to desperately play with the cats and will give chase if they run but never is aggressive and backs off as soon as she is hissed at. Smart puppy. Although her favourite thing to do is play whether that is with other pets or people, she is also a typical Rat Terrier in the fact that she is very affectionate and loves to spend time snuggling as close as she can with you on the couch. Although Roxy has a lot of energy, once she has had a good romp in the yard with her bff Cupcake she goes in her crate for a nap or into your lap. As she gets out of puppy hood I’m sure she will settle down nicely.

Roxy is quiet in the home. If she hears a strange noise she will bark but it is only a few barks to alert you. She seems to know sit and is a very quick learner. She would be great in obedience or flyball. She has had a couple accidents but she is 95% house trained. She chooses to sleep in the crate and settles quickly. She is not fully leash trained but is getting the hang of it quickly. She is very well behaved and doesn’t seem to be a destructive chewer as long as she has many dog toys to choose from.

Roxy is great with everyone and would do good in any home that can spend a bit of time finishing up her training. She will need regular walks and playtime . She is only 14 Lbs but can handle the big dog activities like jogging and biking. She is also a perfect size for kids as she is big enough to be sturdy but small enough for children to handle. She is at the perfect age for a family that wants a puppy but doesn’t want to deal with the small puppy issues like crate and potty training and chewing. She needs some more obedience training but is smart as a whip and will learn quickly. It only took her a minute to learn to sit outside the kitchen while I dished up doggy dinners. She likes to sleep in the bed with you but will sleep through the night in her crate. We found that putting her crate in our bedroom stopped the early morning bark as she just wants to be near you. Roxy is a beauty too. She has a gorgeous white coat with brown markings on her head. And the one up and one down ear is so cute.
