My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Gunther. I am a black lab retriever mix. I am a big boy that was found wandering around in the Woodstock, CT area. I must have had owners before because I had on a collar but no tags. I was filthy, the collar had to be thrown out since it was covered in dirt and so was I. Thankfully the woman that found me didn't throw me out but brought me here to the shelter! I was vaccinated and updated on my shots before arriving here. I just need to be neutered and I will be ready to go! I need an experienced owner that can handle my almost 80 pounds size and teach me the basic commands of stay, come and very importantly, the no jumping on people rule! I do know how to sit but I get so excited to have someone pay attention to me that I want to lean all my weight on them while they give me a back scratch. I did get along with another dog before but wouldn't be good with children under 12 due to my large size and exuberant nature. I need to be taught manners on a leash but I am learning quickly. If I sound like the perfect companion for you, please come and see me or call the shelter. I am a handsome boy just looking for a master.
