Rusty's Story...
Rusty's story is so sad. An ad for free to a good home on Craig's list brought him to our attention.
I contacted his owner and she relinquished him to me. He obviously missed his home life, he would not eat and seemed so detached and lost. Fast forward, he is thriving now, ready for a home of his own, a fenced in yard (he loves to be outside and watch the world go by. He is playful, mellow, loves to play with other dogs, does not jump on people or kids, A Real love a very sweet, mellow dog. Loves to sit outside in the sun and also likes to run. A fenced in yard is a requirement, or someone who can take long walks with him daily. Very nice with children, adults and other dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Afton English Setter dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Setter for sale in Afton, or seeking a English Setter dog from a breeder in Afton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Afton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Afton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Setter breeders who help with English Setter rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Afton paves the way for another one to be saved.
