Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Phoenix – male, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (-), ~12lbs, ~3yrs, Terrier/Shih Tzu type mix.
Phoenix’s owner has a terminal illness and is very sadly no longer able to care for him.
Phoenix has just been groomed and has a very soft, wavy but cotton like coat. He will require a quick daily brushing to keep his coat free of painful mats and tangles. He is minimal shedding (but not non-shedding) so he may be ideal for allergy sufferers.

Phoenix is a lovely, social and energetic young dog. He is good with other dogs, cats and respectful children of any age. Phoenix has previously lived with other dogs and cats and could go to a home with either or on his own. He is house trained and crate trained. Phoenix listens well but could use a brush up on his training but knows basic commands. With a little effort he can likely develop a very good recall for off leash time at the parks! He is improving his leash manners and working on not jumping up on everyone that he meets. His family will need to understand that Phoenix is a little out of sorts since his owner entered long term care so his general training and routine has somewhat gone to the wayside. He is getting him back in to a routine while in foster care and it seems to be coming along with ease, we feel that when his new family takes over he will thrive even further. Phoenix is a loving and loyal little guy, he’d be great for a family looking for an active but smaller more compact dog. He’d be thrilled to accompany you to work or on walks to school to drop off and pick up the kids. He’s smaller but at 15lbs hardy enough to go for long hikes at the cottage and snuggle up in the evening. Phoenix would love to find his forever family that can give him daily exercise, routine and regular grooming – if this is you please fill out an Adoption Application. Phoenix would really prefer a house with a fenced yard to play in.
If you are interested in being considered to adopt a pet please submit a 4 Legged Love Adoption Application. An application must be submitted before an appointment can be made to meet/adopt a pet.
