Morrie's Story...
My name is Morrie. I am a 5 year male cattle dog. I have a story but nobody knows it. I was picked up as a stray in the Casa Grande area and brought to the Pinal county shelter. The workers saw that I was special and made sure I was safe until NHCD could come and save me. Due to my unknown past life experiences I am reserved around new people. I have come a long way in a short amount of time and I really want someone to love who could be patient with me and expose me to new sights and places. I am completely misunderstood by people who meet me because I come off as aloof out of fear. I really am not an aloof dog. My foster dad has seen that I can be a great dog. He has had me since March 2012. He is patient with me and has really brought me out of my shell. When I am with him I play with my squeaky toys and I really enjoy playing in water in my kiddie pool. A friend of my foster dad comes by and takes me for walks and running too, which I enjoy.

I have been told that I am a medium energy dog. I do enjoy a good workout by playing fetch or going on runs. It helps me to keep my nerves calm. I desire a good patient leader who is kind and able to continue with my confidence building. I am crate trained and I’m learning basic obedience commands like sit, stay, drop it and wait. Though I'm not fully housetrained, I am learning not to potty in the house. I have to be honest I have no experience with kids and the ones I have seen have made me nervous. I may be fine with kids in time but maybe to start I would be better with older ones. I’m a good looking boy and I will make the best playmate ever if given the chance. I am neutered, micro chipped and up to date on my vaccinations. The only thing I am missing is my forever home. Can you help me with that? If so go to newhopecattledogs.com and fill out my adoption application. I promise you won’t be sorry!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Morrie, a Phoenix Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
