Caspernia's Story...
Casperina (A.K.A. Rina) is one of five pups that were surrendered to FFL by an owner that had not spayed or neutered his pets, and became overwhelmed with unwanted puppies. She was born on Valentines Day, very fitting for such a sweet girl. The marking on her nose is even in the shape of a heart! She is being fostered with her brother, Leo. She is very bonded to her big brother and it would be great if they could be adopted together, but she will adjust fine if they have to be separated. Rina’s foster notes that she is doing great with crate training and is now quite or asleep for an extended period of time. She is also mostly potty trained and is doing GREAT with it! She has done very well around other animals and even plays with the kitty in her temporary home. Rina warms up to people quickly and loves sleeping at her human’s feet. This beautiful girl will make an awesome addition to any home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Caspernia, a Houston Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
