My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Hennessey #2613
Age: 6-7 years
Color: Red
Coat: Longhair
Sex: Female/spayed
Size: 11.5 lbs.

Hennessey is a sweet, beautiful red longhair spayed 7-year old female dachshund. She has the gorgeous full flag tail so typical of many longhair Dachshunds, and she wags it a lot. Her family did not have the time or money to properly care for Henny so they called Dachshund Rescue to find her a new forever family. Henny is very friendly to people and is especially attracted to children. In her former home, she used to sleep under the crib of her 2 year old boy buddy. Now in her foster home, she has decided that her foster Mom is the one to follow around.

You can tell by the look in her eyes that Hennessey is a very smart and lively Dachshund girl. When she's in the mood, she'll play with toys and chase a ball around. She has a good appetite and is an enthusiastic eater, but shows no food aggression while eating meals or 'snackies' alongside other dogs. While out and about with her foster Mom, Henny wasn't the least bit bothered when a big Yellow Lab wanted to come over to say hello. She has excellent doggie manners and has fit right in to the pack of four Dachshunds in her foster home.

Henny walks well on the leash, is house trained and crate trained - although she would love to sleep in big bed with her new family. She gets along with cats as well. Henny has been groomed, shampooed, treated for fleas and is up to date on vaccinations.

Henny is a friend to adults, dogs, cats and kids and is a great family dog. She would love to be in a home with children again. Hennessey will do best as either an only dog or in a home with a male dog. If you have a place in your family for our wonderful Henny and would like to give her the forever home she deserves, please contact Sue at msflowers96@sbcglobal.net
