Sparky's Story...
Hi Everybody,

My name is Sparky, not to be confused with my brother Spotty. We are both here at the shelter waiting to find us a great home. If you take a look at our pictures were the two of us are together, I am the one on the left and Spotty is on the right. We did have a wonderful home but our owner had 6 of us, all from the same litter. But since we are now getting so big the landlord said that he had to give up 2 of us and since we were some of the youngest of the crew we had to come here to the shelter. But please don't worry, we are being very well taken care of. I am 2 1/2 years old and of course a boy. I am a Border Collie/ Springer Spaniel Mix. I am so very loveable, gentle and sweet. I am a medium sized doggie weighing about 40 lbs. My primary colors are black and white. I have to admit I don't like taking baths as much as my brother does but I do love being groomed. I want to look my best all the time. The people at the shelter can tell me from my brother because he has a white stripe on the top of his head, but my face and back have more black than he does. I am not totally housetrained but I am getting better every day. I really like to keep my run nice and clean and if I can't wait until I can go outside I will use the papers to go on. I walk great on the leash, I don't pull or nothing. I love going on nice long walks. Oh and I do get along great with other dogs and kids, especially my brother. Being raised with the 6 of us, we are very used to living together. But the people at the shelter said that we don't have to be adopted together, we will be ok if we are seperated. Thats just a part of life. The most important thing is that we both find loving homes.
Soooo now..... Whats my destiny going to be. Is there a reason why you are reading this bio about me right now? Am I meant to be a part of YOUR family? Who is going to give me, a "very gentle man" a new life and another chance at being the loving pet I was meant to be? I really don't need a lot, just a person to love me and a lap to lay my head on. SOooooooo if you have room in your heart and home for such a wonderful doggie like me, contact the people at the shelter and they can arrange a time for us to meet!! I will love you SOooo much and I will be your very best friend forever! :)
I live in Youngwood, Pa. at the shelter so why don't you stop in and see me. I SO..... would love to have my "VERY OWN FOREVER HOME AGAIN."
I have been neutered and I'm up-to-date on my routine shots. Oh and I have been microchipped so that if we do get lost from each other it will be easier for us to reunite again:)
You can see some other adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from 12 to 6pm and some Sundays too. BUT please find me first? OK?
All adoption fees include neutering, microchip and up-to-date vaccinations.
I HOPE to meet you really soon. Sparky!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparky, a Youngwood Border Collie/Springer Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Springer Spaniel for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Border Collie/Springer Spaniel dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Springer Spaniel breeders who help with Border Collie/Springer Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
