Hi- I’m Jasper! I am approx.. 1 -2 years young, and a very loving yellow lab mix. I love kids, cats and other dogs- well, I just love everyone! I am neutered, vaccinated, tested and I am treated with a monthly preventative for heartworm and for fleas and worms. I am approx.. 45-50 lbs. I am potty trained too.
I had a very tough start in life- you see, I had a home, but I was badly hit by a car and my "owner" didn't want to be bothered to take me to a vet, so instead, he tossed me in a high-kill shelter where again, I received no medical treatment and I was terrified and very hungry (they seem to forget to feed the animals at this shelter!). I had road rash on my front arm and my shoulder hurt badly-- I moved with a big limp. At this shelter, 99% of the animals who enter their doors die each week, unless a rescue like A4A steps up in a last minute notice to help. I am so thankful to be one of the lucky ones!!!
Once I got to A4A, they took me to the vet and I have been given the care and treatment I so desperately needed. They found out that not only did I have road rash on my arm, head and have a bad front leg--- but I had a pelvis that had been fractured multiple times! Ouch! After a long “bed rest” my pelvis is now healed and I can run and play with everyone! My front leg is being amputated (from the car accident). I may look a little different, only having 3 legs- but that doesn’t mean I’m not full of love! I love to go on walks, to play in the yard, to be petted and just to be loved. I am very sweet and gentle.
I love my ears being scratched and I love to lay my head on your lap. I wag my tail lots when I am happy (which is always!!!). Just because life started out hard for me, I know life can be great now--- and that there are great people out there. I am now in search of a loving, forever home to call my own. I am a young guy full of love, kindness and I love to walk, play, snuggle and to be part of the family. I hope to meet you soon!
