My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful Brittany/Staffie mix is not only house-broken, she’s house-trained. This 16-month-old petite girl, weighs only around 40 lbs., and really has a lot going for her. She doesn’t chew or get into anything! She’s smart and clean. And she has the best indoor manners ever! And, once Peaches gets to know a dog, she loves to play. She shares toys and is not possessive at all! Peaches was rescued at the last minute from the euthanasia list at the county pound.

Pictures and a video link are below:

She’s come a long way in a short time, and a very calm home would be perfect for Peaches. This medium-sized pooch loves walks and does great on the leash. She’s learned to sit after the walk to have her leash removed. Plus she waits for you to go through doors and gates first.

Peaches is shy when she first meets people and dogs. Yet she warms up pretty quickly. We’re looking for that special person who is calm and has a lot of patience. Peaches would do great with someone who can give her time to get to know people and dogs. She was afraid of me, her foster mom, for a couple of days. Then, she began to come out of her shell. Now she loves walks and full body massages. A home with older children or no children would be best. In the last few days, she’s made amazing progress getting closer to people and dogs in the neighborhood. She’s very smart and is learning fast!

Also, she may get along with cats. She’s ‘friendly curious’ about cats, although she hasn’t gotten up close and personal with one yet. At least once a day she tries to play with me outside while on the leash. You know how dogs get frisky and start darting around with their tails tucked under? To me it’s doggie language for, “Let’s play!” To reciprocate, I jump around trying to act like a bouncy dog. After we prance around together for a few seconds, she stops, looks up at me and seems to say, “You’re not very good at this doggie play stuff, are you?”

Perky Peaches is already a great companion and housemate and is learning fast how to be social. It’ll just take some patience. She’s spayed and up-to-date on her shots.

Please contact me if you’re interested in giving sweet Peaches a loving home.
