I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Back in 2012, Marcus came to us from a shelter. Don't know how he ended up there but we knew that he should be in a home. We found him a wonderful home with George where he lived for the next 4 years, happy and having fun every day. Then George became ill and had to go to a long term care facility. His family turned Marcus back into the rescue. George took great care of Marcus as evidenced by the detailed file that George kept on Marcus. This is one sweet boy, let me tell you. Marcus enjoys his toys, walks well on leash and enjoys attention from his foster mom. His foster mom says that he is house trained, crate trained and likes to 'daddy' the pups that she is fostering for another rescue, although they are bigger than he is! Marcus is a young guy at only five years old and weighs just about 11 pounds. His beautiful fawn coat is not really short and not really long. He has what is called a 'self colored nose'. I think it's quite appealing! Marcus is neutered, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm/flea preventative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned. Did I mention that he was housetrained? His adoption fee is $250.
In August, 2006, we branched off from a long association with Chihuahua Rescue and Transport in order to have a more local focus. You may have noticed that we have also branched off from rescuing only chihuahuas. As we were doing shelter pulls, it became harder and harder to pull chihuahuas for rescue and leave behind other small breed dogs that we knew were highly adoptable. So we started taking them also. Chihuahuas are first in our hearts but we have been very successful in finding wonderful homes for doxies, miniature pinschers and various terriers. If we have the means, the desire and the drive to rescue them as well, how could we not? I guess we should start calling ourselves River City Canine Rescue.
