Phoebe's Story...
Look at that face!! An always happy Phoebe wandered up to a stranger's home scared, and shivering in the cold. A nice family took her in, attended to her, fell in love, but they are moving and cannot take Phoebe with them. Phoebe is excellent with children and she has been on camping trips and loves the outdoors. Phoebe loves to play and be petted. She does know some basic commands, Sit, Shake, Lay and always loves getting treats for those type things.
Her foster mom writes "She is such a beautiful, loving dog with a wonderful personality. We have enjoyed our time with her and we rescued her from near death and want her to have a family to call her own.'

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Sherman Carolina Dog/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Carolina Dog/Basenji for sale in Sherman, or seeking a Carolina Dog/Basenji dog from a breeder in Sherman.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sherman already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sherman breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Carolina Dog/Basenji breeders who help with Carolina Dog/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sherman paves the way for another one to be saved.
