Hanky's Story...
Hanky is an amazing older gentleman. He is about 8 years old and on the medium side weighing in at about 55 lbs. This poor boy has had a rough life and has a few scars to prove it. Things can only get better for him now. When he came to Lucky Lab Rescue he tested positive for heartworm, but has completed his treatment and has a clean bill of health. His foster dad thinks he is the greatest and loves taking him for walks. Hank enjoys his walks and prances and holds his head up high. Hanky has a wonderful happy personality and gets along great with everyone. Hanky would need an invisible fence as he will climb a fence and go visiting. This awesome boy would be a good fit for the single person looking for a best friend or an older couple looking for a companion. He would love to be able to lie at your feet and watch TV or go for a walk on the beach or even help with the yard work. Don't let his age fool you, he doesn't act, feel, or look like an 8 year old guy.
Hanky is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is micro chipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in this handsome guy, please fill out an online application and request Hanky in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hanky, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
