My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof! I'm Baxter!!! As of 5/3/12 I'm about 8 months old. I think I'll be around 65 lbs full grown -- I'm around 45 lbs right now (please only apply if you don't mind if I get bigger!). I am just a big goof! I'm not sure what breed I am, but I do know that I'm a handsome guy! The following was written by the trainer that I met at Keesey Canine Consulting: "Baxter is a very sweet dog. He is young and energetic and will need lots of daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy. He would do well in a family with robust kids who can handle his energy. Baxter knows some of the basics like sit and down, but training is recommended to help him master house manners and become a great companion to you and your family!" I also have a fun time being social with other dogs. Actually, it would be GREAT if you already had a dog so that I'd have a friend to hang out with when you aren't home. I even do well with kitties - meow! I'm doing great with my housebreaking too! I hope that I can be your new best friend!!! -- Please remember that dogs need time, attention, and continued training. If interested in applying for this dog go to: APPLICATION

Adoption fee $250. As a legal MA rescue all of our dogs have been through the states mandated 48hr Isolation at an approved isolation facility and had a clean health exam by a MA vet. We then place our dogs in one of our many wonderful foster homes. Please be sure to read all the info below. We look for families who have the time and commitment to raise a puppy to be a great dog. All dogs adopted from One Tail at a Time Rescue are here in New England at foster homes, spayed or neutered, up to date with vaccines, have been wormed, and are ready to go to their new homes now. We prefer adoptive homes in MA and NH -- we do not ship our dogs. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION unless you are ready to take a dog home now. Even if approved for a specific dog, we will not hold dogs while you go on vacation or a business trip or prepare your home. Our dogs are being cared for in private homes by volunteer foster families. Appointments to see our dogs are scheduled once an application has been submitted and approved by our adoption counselors. Thank you! --------------------------------------------------------- ** PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee breed or full-grown adult size of all our rescue dogs. Because these dogs are rescued from shelters, we do not know exact background and only list breed and size by our best knowledge. If exact breed and size are important to you, please look elsewhere. We want our dogs to be adopted by people who will love and care for them forever - no matter what breed and size they turn out to be! **
