My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hitch has been a traveler for most of his young life. He started his ventures in California at the SPCA of Solano County. He was adopted at 8 months old but was deemed “untrainable” and sent back to the shelter. However, Hitch was the complete opposite of untrainable. An experienced dog professional that worked at the shelter decided to take Hitch to a training seminar hosted by one of the best in the business! There, Hitch met a certified search and rescue dog trainer that saw a special quality in this special boy and decided to bring him back to his home in Texas. Therefore, Hitch hitched a ride and became the first Pit Bull Terrier to compete in the Extreme Mutt Makeover! This event consisted of 15 shelter dogs from all over to be trained for 8 weeks by 15 selected dog trainers. Hitch was paired up with an obedience trainer in Fort Worth and went on the win 1st in Obedience and won 3rd in the overall competition. Hitch watched all of his mutt friends get adopted at the end of the competition, but he did not. That’s when his trainer decided to take him in and provide him with more training and socialization so that he could one day travel to his final, permanent home. Won’t you let Hitch hike his way to your heart? He’s neutered, up to date on shots, friendly with people and kids of all ages, good with dogs and prefers homes without teasing kitties. He’s two years old now and ready to settle.
