Hayden: 2 yr old chocolate male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. approx. 14", 15.3 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Meet Hayden! This little bundle of energy is just beginning his fresh start on life! Hayden was seized along with 13 Pit-bulls during a drug raid, all the dogs had been found chained outside. Being chained has left Hayden starving for human affection and just loves to be cuddled once he gets to know you! Hayden can be nervous around strangers and will bark when he sees someone, particularly men in their 20s/early 30s. Hayden has not had many children approach him, and none have tried to pet him, however the few children who he has had approach him he has either wagged his tail or completely disregarded them. Hayden is good with other dogs as long as they don't try to jump on top of him and he does not try to attack cats however does like to chase them when they decide to run away. Hayden loves to play and loves to go for walks! He appears to have no obedience training, but is doing well with short sessions. While Hayden is not fully housebroken he we are very optimistic that we will see no more accidents in the next few weeks. Hayden prefers to be in a fenced in yard where he can run free. While in the house he will tolerate being blocked off in a room with a gate (must be a tall gate b/c he climbs), however he will not settle down and gets very wound up when placed in a crate. At night, and when he is cuddling on the couch) he likes to sleep underneath the blankets in my arms like a teddy bear.
After Hayden's tough life all he wants is a forever home with lots of affection and a blanket & a warm body to cuddle with.
Note: Hayden is located in Tuckerton, NJ - and we will not fly this boy.
