Jake and his sister, Jill, were adopted out from our shelter as puppies. However, after 5 years, their owner could no longer keep them and returned them back to our shelter. Both are even tempered, friendly, sweet dogs. Jill is the outgoing one of the two, while Jake tends to be a tad apprehensive with new situations, but then gains courage after his sister leads the way. Adopting them is a packaged deal; they need to go to the same home together since they've been with one another their entire lives. If you are interested in adopting Jake and Jill, please contact us today.
Born Free Pet Shelter is a No Kill 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue organization that has been helping homeless dogs since 1980. Located on a beautiful 5-acre refuge in the Redlands of South Florida, Born Free rescues dogs in distress and offers them the chance to lead happy and healthy lives. We are currently responsible for over 160 dogs, ranging from puppies to seniors. With the help of generous donations and the tireless efforts of our volunteers, we provide the love and care that they deserve. Some of our dogs will live out their days at the shelter, but we have so many that would make wonderful companions if given the chance.
Come Meet Our Pets...
You can meet our adoptable dogs at any of these locations: Petco (1635 NW 107th Avenue) every Saturday 12pm - 3pm Petsmart (13621 S Dixie Hwy) every Sunday 11am - 3pm Petco (Miami Beach) 1st Saturday of every month

Our Adoption Process...
At the time of adoption it is essential that a fee be charged as it will be used to feed and maintain the animals that are housed at our shelter. The adoption fee includes DHPP vaccine, rabies vaccine, microchip and sterilization. We do a home check prior to approving any adoption.
