Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Bailey
Age: about 6 years old.
Breed/Coloring/Weight: Mostly Basset Hound with a touch of Beagle in him weighing about 28 pounds. He has very short and hilariously stubby typical Basset legs with white and brown markings and long droopy Basset ears.
Rescue History: Bailey’s family had a baby within the past year and foolishly decided that babies and dogs don’t mix. Bailey and his sister have been thrown out to be yard dogs ever since and are not ever allowed in the house. Before the baby, they were treasured family pets and welcome members of the family to go in and out as they please. This family is willing to give Bailey (and Lucy) up for adoption to a family that can give them the life they deserve. They can be separated if need be.
Personality: Bailey is as easy going as they come. He is calm, sweet-natured, mild-mannered, and overall wins the prize for “sweetest dog ever”. He has a very subtle presence and is one of those dogs that can just sort of ‘hang’. He is easy to be around as he is not overly high-energy nor does he require much - all he really wants to do is enjoy the company of his loved ones. He is the ultimate ‘no issues’ dog and has many wonderful traits that make him one of the easiest dogs to have around, care for, and love. He can easily fit into any situation you put him in, whether it be taking him along on a family excursion, relaxing Starbucks visit, or a peaceful walk around the block, he’ll just go with the flow. Sweet Bailey’s personality is so chill that he can be in the presence of the most obnoxiously bossy dog and will take being pushed around - the most non-confrontational dog ever. No matter what, this is one sociable dog who truly loves being in the presence of people and other dogs. His favorite past time is sun bathing in a nice patch of sun in the yard and cuddling with Lucy his pug sister. He really loves getting attention from his humans so as many pets and cuddles as he can get, the better.
Kids/Dogs/Cats: Bailey gets along famously with kids and enjoys their presence - he is patient with the little ones and bonds with older children. His easy going nature is really the reason he can get along with every type of personality he encounters. Bailey is kind towards cats the same way he is with everyone else.
Would do best: This gregarious boy would flourish in any environment that can offer him love, attention, and affection. He could be that 4 legged furry best friend to a family with kids, or a one owner type of dog offering companionship and loyalty. He bonds with humans and enjoys the companionship of other dogs so really he’s a versatile guy who would fit in anywhere.
p.s. you can see a cute video of him walking with Lucy here! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6643822/IMG_6343.MOV
